We searched some, and searched more anyplace and everyplace. All of us exclaimed it almost together, “Nothing! There is nothing that would give us everything NYC.” Totally frustrated, Viv said, “ I would actually pay for a good iPhone app that does it all.”
A few days later, we found out about Mayor Bloomberg’s announcement of the NYC Big Apps Competition (www.nycbigapps.com) - asking for people to develop new apps that add value to the lives of NYC residents and enhance the experience of NYC tourists.
Being true NYC enthusiasts, we took it upon us to create that killer app – the ONE that will be your and our true NYC Buddy.
After 40 days of sweat, tears and sleepless nights, we came up with the ‘NYC Way’ iPhone app.
Most people told us they would pay upwards of $4.99 for something like this in the apple app store, and that made us euphoric. We could see the dollars pouring in, the new Porsche, red carpet treatment….the high life! After a good 12 minutes of day dreaming, we came back to the basics - our true goal – to add value, and to do it at NO COST to the people.
